itunes has stopped backing up my idevices

When ever I sync my iPhone 6+ or my iPad mini. my computer says syncing but is over fast and does not transfer my new apps or updated ones. Is there a way to turn this back on. Automatic sync is checked in preferences. Windows 8.1: iTunes 12.1.1.4: iOS 8.1.3 Thank you for your help

I understand that a sync is unable to complete and purchases will not transfer. Here are a couple troubleshooting articles that I would recommend going through as they may help with this issue.


If you can't back up or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod using iTunes


iTunes: Resolve USB-related alerts


I would also try and transfer purchases via the steps in the article below.


Re-download or transfer your iTunes Store purchases from an iPhone, iPad or iPod to a computer
