Mac OS X 10.5.8 (9L31a)

Hi all, I have a 2007/2008 Mac book and I am running Mac OS X 10.5.8 (9L31a). I have just got an iphone 6, when I went to connect to itunes, The device isn't recognized by my computer.

Can anyone tell me what is the best option to upgrade this software to sync my phone with my macbook?

WHAT TO DO ??????

1. Click here, install the DVD, and run Software Update twice.

2. If it's a Core 2 Duo or better Mac and #1 didn't upgrade the computer's OS to a new-enough version, open the Mac App Store and try downloading Yosemite. If you get told it's incompatible, go to the online Apple Store and order a download code for Lion 10.7.

Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC software such as Microsoft Office 2004. Back up the computer first.
