Is there any way to stop Itunes from stealing window focus to play advertisements when listening to Itunes radio?

When you listen to Itunes radio the application will actually steal the focus from and pop to the forefront of your current window to play advertisements between every couple songs. This is unacceptable. To not only have the window pop in front of my active window but to also steal the focus presents a horrible interruption to work flow. I can't believe this kind of feature made it into their production software. I've searched but can't find a solution for stopping this.
