Consolidating Apple IDs
Over the course of several years I have ended up with 2 Apple IDs, with purchases on both. I would like to consolidate these to a single ID but retain my purchases. Is this possible?

Hi
Frequently asked questions about Apple ID - Apple Support
I have multiple Apple IDs. Is there a way for me to merge them into a single Apple ID?
Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.
If you are wondering how using multiple Apple IDs relate to iCloud, see Apple IDs and iCloud.
Thank you - I suspected this might be the case, but it's not brilliant as the old one is associated with an ancient hotmail account, which is defunct. Ah well.
But you can change the email address inside the account
I know you can't merge 2 Apple IDs. But when I was at the Apple store one of the employees told me a workaround that sounded fine. It would make it so you could get all of you music onto one of the IDs, and just stop using the other one.
There's only one problem. I don't remember what he told me to do. Anyone know?
