Q: cannot connect to itunes on ipad 1st generation, please help

I cannot connect to itunes every time i try to update the apps have installed. Done every troubleshooting i can find on this page. I have tested my wifi my iphone is connects easily.Just this ipad I have this is a first generation ipad and the ios is 5.1.1 only and can no longer be updated. Can anybody please help me?

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

If you are having difficulties connecting to iTunes with your iPad, there are a couple of articles that may be of use, depending if you are using OS X or Windows. I have attached those articles below.
