phone switching off with battery remaining

My iPhone 5 32 GB is switching off when it still has around 20% battery left.

Its asks to be plugged in to a power supply and when it comes back to life it has 20+ % battery still

Thoughts would be much appreciated.

iPhone 5, iOS 8.1.3, 32 GB

Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, the iPhone has turned itself off while the was still a battery charge. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.
