Picture overlay on text

In the ibook that I am creating it involves positioning many pictures around the pages. This causes me to use the floating text wrap for the pictures. As I move the pictures to the desired locations the text moves to stay around it. This is what I am looking for, however when I preview the ibook on my iPad the text no longer is around the picture. Thus, the picture is completely overlaying on the text making it unreadable. Anyone know if there is a way to fix this?
