Graphics card for my aging Mac Pro Early 2008?

My graphics card is aging and I've already baked it twice. I was hoping to edit 4k in the future and the card won't cut it. Can anybody give me a list of compatible cards? I wanted to spend $150. to maybe $250. and would buy used or refurbed. Am I dreaming?

I saw an Apple ATI 5700 on Amazon. Others?

Mac Pro (Early 2008), OS X Mavericks (10.9.5), FCP7

For Radeon cards the 7950 is the lowest that supports 4K monitors. Radeon cards are supposedly better for OpenCL type applications like Final Cut Pro X. Otherwise you need to look at Nvidia cards starting with the GTX 680 which also supports 4K going up to the GTX 980.

The Nvidia cards are more suited to Adobe Premier and other Adobe applications.
