Spotlight effect during observe mode

Has anyone seen the "feature" that shows a spotlight / magnifier window on a client computer when using ARD while in observe mode and then clicking on their screen. I understand the option, highlight an area you are talking about so the person sees clearer what I'm asking them to do.

My question is whether or not I can turn this off, I hate the option and in what I do I don't need it, I will take control and control with the user how to fix or do something.

Thanks

Rich
