Q: Necessary to restore phone after unlocking?
Want to sell my old phone as unlocked.
Provider has agreed.
After erasing data, is it necessary to restore from a backup?
I want to sell it without my own data (obviously).
Would like to send it out in "Welcome...helo..." status to be set up by the buyer---
How do I tell whether the unlocking has been accomplished?

If the phone has been unlocked when you restore it as New using iTunes you will get a message confirming it is unlocked.
