why did the trackpad suddenly stop working on the pages app?

i was on pages earlier today and i could scroll up and down without problem using two fingers. Now whenever i try it doesn't respond, but i can do it on other apps like safari or iTunes. i don't think i changed anything in settings, and if someone can help me ASAP that would be amazing! thanks!
