How do I hide my full name from the login screen?

Hi guys!

Well I don't need everyone to know my full name just by looking at my screen. How do I hide it from the login screen without switching to username input mode?

Thanks in advance!

I don't think you can hide it completely but you can simply change the 'Full Name' in the System Preferences > Users & groups pane for your account. It won't alter the name of the home folder.

You can also set an 'alias' that will allow you to use another name in the input field if you add one. Ask if you want to try that, it's an advanced option.

The login screen works in one of two ways, either it shows the full name of all user accounts available to login in with on your Mac, or it can be set instead to just show empty boxes in to which you then type the user name and password.

You can configure which by going to System Preferences --> Users & Groups --> Login Options and setting it to either 'List of Users' or 'Name and password'.
