delete apps from dock

How do I remove terminal from the dock so it wont start when i turn my mbp on.

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

Check the list of login items in the Users & Groups pane of System Preferences, and if you get a prompt at shutdown asking if you'd like to reopen the windows when logging back in, turn that option off.


Whether or not an application opens at login is independent of whether it appears in the Dock.
