I exported my pages document to word but it would not open on a microsoft computer

I put my exported document on my memory stick and tried to open it with a computer that has microsoft but it would not open. What do i do?? I did export it from pages to microsoft when i was using my mac. I use pages 5.5.2

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014), OS X Yosemite (10.10.2), yosemite 10.10.2

Have you dragged the file onto the Word icon or gone right click, open with?

And you haven't said what version of Word nor whether it is on a Mac or Windows PC.
