To make sure that we are on the same page, it sounds like you are stilled signed in on your iPhone with the old Apple ID and you want to sign out and sign back in with the newly created one. To get that corrected, you will need to change it back to the old Apple ID so you can sign out. Once that is done you can change it back to what you want it to be and sign in. The key thing to do is to make sure that you are signed out of everything that is associated with the old Apple ID before moving forward with the new one.
