Mac mini (Mid-2011) gets stuck in the boot-up screen with vertical green stripes

Model: Apple Mac mini "Core i5" 2.5 (Mid-2011)

Symptom: As shown by the photo, the machine boots up with green, vertical stripes, and then gets stuck in the grey screen.

cmd+r upon boot-up will show a globe icon, saying "Starting Internet Recovery. This may take a while."

After the loading bar completes, it get stuck in the grey screen forever.

Any idea to fix this, thanks?

Try resetting the SMC and NVRAM.

About NVRAM and PRAM

Could be a hardware problem is if still perists

Running Apple Hardware test MAY show something. However. it may not for a graphics problem since it only tests what goes to the graphics processor, not what comes out.

Thanks for your reply.

I just reset both SMC and PRAM as per instructions but was to no avail. Anyway I can diagnose if it is a hardware issue?
