after syncing with hearing aids, my iphone6 is unable to detect other bluetooth devices (UP24, fitbit)

My iphone6 (8.1.2, model MG4U2LL/A) had good connectivity with bluetooth devices, including a Toyota RAV4, a JAMBOX, Plantonix headset, etc.

After installing the app for ReSound hearing aids, and pairing with the hearing aids, the phone has difficulty detecting Bluetooth devices.

I have been unable to reestablish the link with the Toyota or the Plantronics, and cannot establish a new link with an UP24.

I have powered off the phone multiple times, to no effect.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I wear Starkey's not ReSound.

Your phone can only connect to one Bluetooth device at a time (even though it can be paired to more than that), so if you have paired and connected your hearing aids, you will not be able to connect your phone to another device unless you pop the batteries out of the hearing aids or "unpair" them from your phone.

I leave my hearing aids paired and connected, but I open the battery doors when I used another device with my phone. This only worked for me because my other Bluetooth device is a headset. However, now that I have a Jabra Evolve (wired) headset, I do not need to open the battery doors to use my headset.

You need to determine if your hearing aids are more important than the other devices, when it comes to Bluetooth connectivity.

I am able to control volume and tone (somewhat) from an app. It also changes the audio feed automatically based on movement - greater than 10 mph and it will shift into "automobile" mode. It will also automatically adjust to personalized settings when I connect to a phone call (inbound or outbound) that can include muting the onboard microphones in favor of the streaming feed.

deggie is right. I recommend the following -

1. Unpair all Bluetooth devices from your phone.

2. Restart your phone with all Bluetooth devices powered down.

3. Beginning with your hearing aids, power up and repair all devices to your phone. Don't power up another device until the pairing for the last device is completed.

Let us know how that works.

Hi ietffdbh, We’re sorry to hear you’re experiencing connectivity issues with other Bluetooth devices after pairing the ReSound LiNX to your iPhone and we see that you’ve already received some suggestions for alleviating the issue. However, if you find that you’re still having trouble, try downloading iOS 8.2 as it seems to have made many improvements on connection between Made for iPhone hearing aids and Apple devices. If you need any more assistance we would be more than happy to help troubleshoot. Please call our support team at (888) 735-4327 or e-mail at consumersupport@gnresound.com.
