How do I take a screenshot of my full hd movie in quicktime that is 1920x1080, not 1440x900?

I have a 2011 15'' Macbook Pro (OSX 10.9.5), so the display is only at 1440x900. Is there any way to take a screenshot in Quicktime in full HD, or somehow export a still from that software in 1920x1080? It seems like it should be incredibly simple.

Perhaps, but I'd be interested in any answer regarding full HD screen captures with my Macbook Pro, regardless of software. Well, regardless of Apple based software (I know that Photoshop, FCP and other creative suites can do it, but I just want to take a quick screenshot of a project I know is 1920x1080). Why are my Macbook's display settings locked at 1440x900?
