Delete Projects and Events in Final Cut Pro X 10.1.3

Hi

I have Final Cut Pro X 10.1.3.

I just use my internal hard disk as my project saving destination, including my source files.

Lately I have couple of finished projects that need to get rid of from my machine, as I need to free up space for the upcoming projects.

How do I completely delete all the files and folders, including rendered & backup files, related to the completed projects/events from my machine?

I tried the method of going to the events folder, right clicking on the event I need to delete and click on Move Event to Trash. However once I do that, it removes the listing from the Events Library, but there's nothing in the Trash.

When I Undo Move to Trash, the event and all the files under it reappears.

Please Help.

TThe event goes into the application' undo cache and remains there until you close the app. What happens to the media is a different story depending on where the media actually is.

So does that mean I can never clear out all the files of the Event / Project I have created in FCP? I no longer need them, so no point keeping them on my hard disk.

And I just tried that. Move project to Trash. Then quit FCP. But my Trash Can is still empty.

If you're using managed media, the media doesn't go into the trash. If you're using external media, the media is separate from the library and is deleted separately.

Then how do I do that?

And how to find out if it's managed media or external media?

Does external media mean I had the files stored in an external media file, like an external hard disk? If so, then no. All the files were in my Macintosh HD. No external media was connected.

MManaged media means the media is inside the library in folders called Original Media. External media means there are only symlinks in the Original Media folders and the files themselves were either left in there original location when imported or copied into an assigned external folder.
