The audio jack was working and when I pull out the jack and put it in another device my external speakers work. When I plug it back in it doesn't. The mac book pro speakers work and do not have it muted, is there anything else to check?

Have you checked System Preferences>Sound to see if the device you are connecting is recognized? Have you tried it on another computer?

Thanks, I had a EPSON projector that was the primary on the sound and didn't realize it. So everything is working just fine. Thanks again.
