The over line will go over the decimal but not over the pair of 6s. Is there a keyboard shortcut using option like option e creating ´ and being yellow till you add the vowel under? é
I had looked in special characters but didn't see something that would work. And this doesn't quite work either….
Thank you for trying.

Hmmmm...
Go figure. I'll try again. I couldn't get it to work. So I found the combining over line in special characters. 6̅6̅ Eureka!
Type a single 6 and then add the special character by double clicking on it. Repeat.
Thank you.
I even thought maybe changing the baseline would work. Maybe a text box with ___ and the 66 under it and then changing the spacing of the text box so it looks like a repeating decimal.
And I think I'd have to use a text box so I didn't change the spacing on the whole document…..
Just looking for an easy way for 8 and 9 year olds to do it for their science fair projects….
Sigh.
Which one is it that you want?

If it's the vinculum, just do Edit > Special Characters and look for Combining Overline, U+0305.
I don't understand what is not working for you. This is the combining overline put over two 6's in succession. 6.6̅6̅
