Where is Pages on my MacPro? Only see it for $19.99 to purchase.

I see that Pages is listed as one the apps that one gets when they purchase a Mac Pro, but I cannot for the life of me find it on my computer. I went to the App Store and see that it can be downloaded for $19.99. Am I missing something here? What happened that I did not receive it on my computer? I called the local Apple people at the Apple store, and they said it needed to be downloaded. Downloaded for a price? This does not make sense.

Pages is free to all purchasers of Macs after September 2013 and owners of Pages/iWork prior to that date.

Do you fit either?

I purchased my mac pro last year. I do not see i Work suite also on this computer. What happened and what should I do now?

Apple does not preinstall its consumer software on Mac Pros.

You should however be able to install them for free.

If you are not from an English speaking country try setting your language to English then try again in the App store.

The iWork suite is not installed. On the webpage for Apple, they advertise that they are loaded in the computer. It says that is $19.99 to download for the Pages on the site. I do not have Numbers either. I have certain apps already loaded, but these are not. GarageBand, iMovie, FaceTime, iPhoto, iBook are all part of the apps I received. Maps, Messages, Notes, iTunes. No iWork stuff however. So, if I am to download them, how am I supposed to not have to pay $19.99? I purchased mu computer from BestBuy and am going to the store tomorrow to have them look at it to see where are the apps. This is not Best Buy's fault, I think it has more to do with Apple.

You asked about a Mac Pro not a Macbook Pro.

On a current Macbook Pro you should have had everything preinstalled.

Is it actually current or is it old stock?

It was supposed to be NEW. I am beginning to wonder about Best Buy. It also has a tendency to overheat.

Check the Mac Model number and date: Menu > Apple > About this Mac.

What is the solution now to this problem? I emailed Apple. I am going to BestBuy today, as that is where I purchased my computer.

We are not Apple here.

I've covered all the eventualities I can. It is in the hands of Apple and Best Buy now.

Thanks for your time. I knew that you cannot be the ultimate outcome to look to. So, it sounds like what I did was the right thing to do--go to BestBuy and see if I can work with Apple. Hopefully they (BestBuy) will not give me a hard time about the computer I purchased from them. These computers are not cheap by any means!
