I cannot correspond with this community from any of my iOS
devices. I type and the cursor just stays in the upper-left-hand corner of this field.

Apple has been working on that and it appears they fixed their problem
If you move the screen when typeing then you will not be able to type anymore. To fix this hide the keybord and begin typeing gain. Just dont move your view of the web page.
