Can I send MMS messages without cellular data turned on?q

Should I be able to send MMS messages on my iPhone 5 without Cellular Data turned on?

No. MMS requires cellular data, as do all iMessages, whether images are included or not.

SMS (plain text to non-iPhone users or users with iMessage off) do not require cellular data but do require phone service.

Thanks Lyssa. I thought that was the case. But for some reason my phone wasn't sending SMS text messages without Wifi, or Cellular Data turned On. However, it now seems to be working, although I' no further in understanding why it wasn't, as I haven't changed anything.

You should be able to send plain text (green bubble) messages IF you have phone service - I usually find I need to have at least 2 bars/bubbles for the messages to go through, though.
