Q: Iphone 6 fast battery drain IOS 8.1.2 even on standby

I have a new iphone 6 64Gb setup as a new phone, already with IOS 8.1.2 installed.  I have experienced really fast battery drain all the time.

I have tried with location services disabled,

push disabled,

background app refresh disabled

siri off

Icloud Keychain off

Itunes & App store updates OFF, Use cellular data OFF

and is still draining battery very fast.  My previous iphone 5 could get from 6.30am to 7pm on one charge, this iphone 6 is on 30% by 3pm.  The main apps I use are Mailbox, safari, waze , tunein and phone and ALL of these apps show as the main "battery usage" items.  Basically having any app open with the screen on causes the battery % to drop before your eyes.  I have also experienced battery drain on standby overnight.  The drain is so fast that using waze for a 45 minute journey causes 30% drop

Basically it is unusable as a smart phone without having a charger connected all the time.  Please can someone help?

thanks
Dave

Has anyone come up with a solution?

my problem is app Store running in the background and draining. My phone will overheat and be dead in 3 hours

This happened to me 2 months ago. I ended up backing up my phone and reinstalling the IOS and then reinstalling all my apps.

Worked fine again for a couple of months.

Now its happening again!! Phone overheating and the app store draining battery in the background.

All settings for the app store are off.

Do i really have to reinstall IOS again???

I see that many users have this problem, I have Iphone 6, 64GB

No other changes have been made, no other software installed, but after 9.2 update battery life is so bad. Really it drains in minutes, even when i did full reset multiple times..... even with stock apps and disabled notifications, backups etc my phone drains battery! Cmon, i bought this phone for almost thousand euros and what do i get? Phone that after year of use will not last a full day? Even in standby mode 6h and use of 1,5h (no games, videos or smth) it gets from 100% to 15% now. RLY? And of course my warranty is over and what can i do? throw my phone away?

I have never had battery problems before during any iOS update/upgrade. But *like many here* I suddenly have abysmal battery life.

All I want is my phone to be usable again.

I now have a phone that will not last a full day - OF NOT BEING USED.

SO many threads right here and other forums.....And still there is no solution from apple. NO WORKING SOLUTION! I'M very VERY dissapointed.

    Still waiting for solution, Gatis.

apple are very quiet about this issue.

Anyway, my phone is back to normal for the second time.

so you have to do a full backup on itunes

then you have to set the phone up as a new phone on iTunes, then you can restore it from the backup.

All the apps then have to reload. But it does that automatically.

this is the second time I have had to do this and it gave me peace for 1 month. I really hope it doesn't happen again. It takes many hours for this fix! A waist of my time.

The App Store has been draining my battery like crazy to the point where my phone would get really hot. I'd reinstall iOS and it would be a temporary fix just to find myself repeating the process over and over again. You have to manually close the App Store, open the App Store, hold the power button, when it asks if you want to turn the phone off then release the power button, and then hold the home button until the phone closes the App Store.

This method has fixed my battery/iPhone getting hot. Now if it happens again I'd just repeat the process vs reinstalling iOS. ✌️  ⌚️ 

    hello,

I have iPhone 6 64gb gold t-mobile my device is currently on iOS 9.3.2 and I am have a battery drain problem.

battery drains very fast on standby but when i start using it drops a bit correctly.

after every 100% charge the battery comes to 99% in 15 minutes on standby i'm not even using any sim card on the phone and later in it cones to 85% in 2.5 hours.

when I use the phone it drops the battery a bit correctly but on standby it drops like a heavy usage going in the background.

I have tried to calibrate the battery but didn't worked.

    please help.
