External SSD

So I dropped my Macbook Pro 13' Early '11t. It has a dent on one corner and the backplate is sticking out. I tried to open it one day to clean it out, the corner screw near the dent would not move at all, I didn't want to risk messing it up. Now, my computer is a little slow and I use it for work and I need it to run faster. Because the back WILL NOT OPEN and if I somehow got it to open I would be afraid I wouldn't be able to put it back. Could I use an external SSD like http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/memory-storage/MU-PS500B/AM to run as if I had gone in and replaced the internal ssd? Thank for any help.

MacBook Pro (13-inch Early 2011), OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)
