How to upgrade MB verson 5.1 to 7.1

You can't upgrade the hardware to a completely different model Mac. Sell your current Mac and purchase a new one.

Because the MacBook series (2006 to 2010) is discontinued, you may be able

to locate a clean as-new model from an individual or a reseller where you can

actually inspect and try the computer out for yourself. Some trusted sources of

older previously owned inventory may or may not have anything in stock; those

who do, may be an authorized repair and service provider.

Depending on the system version you may need to work with existing software,

the vintage of computer may limit access to newer software or limit OSX upgrade.

And an upgrade and update have different meaning; to upgrade an OS X you

may need to upgrade (buy later version) computer, or perhaps add more RAM.
