How do I reduce the background music volume during a voiceover? I am using iMovie 10.0.06 and OIS Yosemite 10.10.2. The "Lower volume of other clips" slider has no effect on the background clip. And yes the voiceover clip is selected.

I thought you could do it the same as with an audio clip that is not in the background music well (see: http://help.apple.com/imovie/mac/10.0/#mov3b5ded23e)
However the idea of the background music is that it is independent of all other clips. If you want to 'dip' the level of this music during a specific interval in the timeline you might want to consider moving it out of the background music well so that it is an ordinary audio channel and can be synced to the video clip which has the voiceover.
