iBooks without WiFi?
I already have books synced from Kindle to iPad mini. However, I find myself in a remote area without WiFi. Is it possible open/download the contents of a book without WiFi?

If the books are already downloaded from the store, or synced from your computer's iTunes, to the iBooks or Kindle app, then you should be able to read them without being online - I have no problems reading downloaded/synced books in either app when my iPad is offline.
If you want to download more books into either app then you will need to be online to do so
