Q: why is there no longer a Epson Stylus NX420 Driver at Apple

I have a Epson Stylus NX420 printer which stopped working wirelessly when I have to reboot my router.

And when I called Epson and Apple they said they no longer have this driver available, so if I want

to print wireless I have to buy a new printer, even though my Epson is working perfectly.

Does anyone have a solution to this?

Hi, are you saying the latest driver from Epson no longer supports wireless printing?

I have added the Epson driver link below, although seeing ha you have already contacted Epson these drivers may be of no use

It's interesting, I've been at the site you sent but if you look it only has the driver for the scanner, not the printer.

For the printer driver it says:

    Description:

The latest printer driver for this product is available from Apple's Software Update. Here's how to get them:

    On this site

    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201465

it lists all the drivers apple has, AND it lists the Epson NX420, but there is nothing to click to download.

If you have a chance to go to this site and figure out why it lists drivers but no download button

    I would appreciate that

    Hi again,

OK what this means is you have to use the Epson driver already installed in Yosemite,  to make sure you have the latest driver available click on the Apple icon top left on your Mac desktop then click on update,  this will ensure you have the latest version of the driver installed on your Mac. All you need to do then is connect your printer and your Mac should automatically find your printer. Just follow the instructions as detailed on the Epson support page.

      1. Do one of the following:
USB Connect your product to your Mac using a USB cable and make sure the product is turned on.
Wireless Connect your product to your router wirelessly and make sure the product is turned on.

Note: You'll need to use the product's control panel to establish the connection to your router.
Ethernet Connect your product to your Mac using an Ethernet cable and make sure the product is turned on.
      1. Select the menu on your Mac, select App Store... then click Updates.
      2. Do one of the following:
        • If you see an update from Epson, select UPDATE to install it.

Note: Apple Software Update may find multiple updates for your system. You may choose to install all or some of the updates.

      • If an update is not available, you're done. You already have the latest drivers from Apple.

I am having the same problem with my Epson NX400 printer and tried the above that trev1124 found on the Epson website with no success.

I guess that's what I get for turning on automatic updates.  Now I need to figure out how to turn them off again.

Try Resetting the Printing System - it forces OS X to re-index where the drivers are (on Apple's server or already on your Mac), so it can quickly download and install the right driver when you click to Add the printer.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you. I connected the mac to the printer with ethernet cable and turned it on.

I went to the app store to look for upgrades for Epson and nothing showed up.

While the cable was still connected, I printed a page.

I then removed the cable and now it prints wirelessly

Thank you all for your help!!!

My os is 10.8 while this download is 10.6, but I do thank you for finding that for me.

Apple has a page where they list all the printer models they have drivers for but

they give no info on how to download any of them. But I think what I've just learned

(although I might be mistaken), is that there is no actual button to click for downloading of drivers,

and that all you need to do is hook you computer up with the ethernet cable to your printer

and it just finds the right driver.

This list is current, they just haven't updated the header. Glad you got it working.
