Sound not working on MacBook Air 2013

Hi y'all,

Thanks in advance for the help.

Mid 2013, 13" MacBook Air that just had the circuit board replaced for an issue where the battery wasn't being recognized.

The sound on my computer isn't working still after I tried SMC reset, PRAM reset, and reinstalled the software. Anyone out there with some good ideas?

I didn't have headphone plugged into the machine when it was shut down, and this is the first time it's happened.

Please help!

MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2011), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

You can try this. Go step by step and test.

1. Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup

Audio Devices window

Side Bar

Click the Built-in Output.

Make sure that no box is checked under “Mute”.

2. System Preferences > Sound> Sound Effects

Play sound effects through:

Select "Internal speakers" and then back to "Selected sound output device".

3. Launch iTunes and play a song through headphone and adjust the volume
