How do i reset my iPod's password if i dont remember it, havnt used it in a year, and dont remember my icloud account username and password?

My iPod touch 4 is not resetting, even though I followed your instructions and they didnt work. Though the apple itunes symbol and the charger symbol popped up on my iPod when i followed the steps, it did not appear on itunes that my device was linked. I want to know how to reset it manually, when i havnt used it in a year, dont know the passcode, and cant remember my icloud account username and password?

You own a very small flat brick.

Apple will help you out if you provide incontrovertible proof (i.e., proof that will hold up in court) that you are the legal owner.

iOS 6/4G iPod does not have an activation lock so you can restore and use the iPod without knowing any ID

Connect the iOS device to your computer and try to make a backup

Then restore via iTunes. The iOS device will be erased. Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

To restore from backup see:

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
