Syncing

I accidentally deleted a playlist from my ipod so I synced it with the computer since the playlist was still there. Bad idea, now my playlist is gone from the computer as well. I created it again, synced again and it deleted it again. How do I get the ipod to sync with the computer and not the computer sync to the ipod?
