My iPad shows a low battery and will not charge. I tried to reset the iPad and it will not reset. When I connect it to iTunes it comes up with an error and the iPad disconnects from iTunes. The apple symbol is showing as well. What can I do to fix this issue?
iPad 2, iOS 7.1.2, Not sure what version iOS it has

If your iPad is unresponsive and will not reset, then I recommend that you put your iPad into recovery mode, and restore to the factory settings using iTunes.

I went in to Apple Support and discovered that the issue was hardware and not software, nothing they could do, so my iPad is scrap. Quite disappointed.
