it just went black and I tried resting it thay did nothing it won't charge or hook up to the computer.

Plug the iPad into the charger and into a wall socket and let it attempt to charge for several hours. If you see any signs of life, try resetting it again by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen. If you get that far, the iPad should start up.
