how is the best way to deal with duplicate photos

I am using a new retina 27" iMac 16gb ram OS X 10.10.1

Aperture 3.6

What is the best way to deal with duplicates that get in Aperture Vaults

I have used Gemini and it finds duplicates, but I have no way of telling if the original are still there.

I don't want to go through 15000 photos to try to find the duplicate.

Thanks Charlie

Not clear what the issue is. Your vault should mirror your library after an update. Since Gemini deals with OS X files, I would assume you are using referenced files and have found some duplicates among those files. These would be the originals. Do you somehow have corresponding (or not) versions in projects? You can run File > Locate Referenced Files on your library to make sure each version references its original. Not sure about the inverse if you find duplicate reference originals but only one version.
