Q: cannot delete or hide apps in itunes

I cannot delete or hide apps in iTunes. iTunes is open I've gone to the store and selected purchased, then select apps. Once I'm on that page I cannot select any apps to delete or hide. I've tried switching to the apps for iPhone and iPad as well as the ones "not in my library" and "All". apps do not respond.

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

You can't hide them directly on the device, you have to use your computer's iTunes

THanks for the reply. Unfortunately that doesnt work. Hiding iTunes music works that way with the"hover over X" issue to hide. Under "Apps" there is no "hover over X" functionality.

    WIndows 10

    iTunes 12.3.2.35

The 'x' is invisible (there is a bug in iTunes), but clicking on its top left corner where the 'x' should be should still hide the app

the X does not exist on apps - it exists on songs. There's no functionality for apps. Its not hidden, its not happening in the background and its not make believe. It doesnt exist AND it shows up on my 7 yr old's tablet with family sharing.

They only solution I have is to turn OFF all sharing content from the Organizer on the device.

Did you read my last reply ?

Have you tried clicking on the app's top left corner in Purchased, where the 'x' would be if it wasn't invisible ?

THere is no "invisible x" for apps on itunes on a desktop. Thats what ive been saying. It doesnt exist. the functionality doesn't exist. Theres nothing to click, and when i try - the apps still show up on a family sharing device under my purchases For my son's device.

FYi Im on the phone with apple for 2 hours snd 17 minutes and counting. They are submitting sn "engineering" ticket to escalate. I've been thru two escalations already.

I can hide apps on both Mac and Windows (and, as far as I'm aware, it works for everyone else) by clicking on an app's top left hand corner where the 'x' would show if it wasn't invisible - I assume that you have actually tried clicking there

THanks again for the reaponse, and I've answered three times the same. Yes I've tried - I can click all I want it doesnt do anything.  I was on the phone for 2 1/2 hours with Apple support. Went from email support, to two different technical support levels and finally they created an engineering ticket to fix the functionality which is broken on both phones iPads and iTunes on at least my windows 10. I did not hear from them today.

I've just tried it on Windows 10 and iTunes 12.3.2.25 and in Purchases clicking on the app's top left corner (just outside the rounded corner of the app's icon, where the 'x' would show if it wasn't invisible), works for me and hides the app.

I am happy to say that it is now working for me as well. Thanks for sticking with me thru the process. Not sure if something changed, or I was just not clicking the "phantom x" correctly but it is hiding apps now and hiding from the family sharing function!
