how do i connect my sony personal audio system (SRS-X2) to my macbook air?

I've recently bought the SRS-X2 bluetooth speaker and I am wanting to connect it to my macbook air. The issue is that I can't "find" the speaker through bluetooth on my mac whereas on my iPhone I can. Is there another way around this (even not wirelessly as a last resort as there is an "audio in" connection on the speaker)?

Go on to System Preferences and open the Bluetooth icon. Ensure that the SRS-X2 speaker is switched on and next to the Macbook; press down on the Bluetootch icon that is above "pairing" on the speaker and keep pressing it down until it beeps; your Macbook should now be able to find the speaker and you can click pair to pair the two together.
