Q: why do I have to allow iTunes to sync my iPhone?

my phone screen is broken and I am trying the sync my phone so I can switch to a different phone.  But I cannot sync it because it wants to to allow it to do so from my phone.  With the broken screen I cannot do this.  Can they sync it in store and transfer to a different phone??  I haven't synced it since my computers hard drive went out.
