I have been advised to log in to iTunes it will give some instructions to change from aol when I log in nothing happens
no that doesn't come up on a macbook pro
Is your Apple ID your AOL User Name or is it an email address?

Then you do not need to do anything. The email and AOL update information is for people who are still using their AOL User Name for their Apple ID. Those need to be changed to an email address.
