How to Copy and Paste Formulas

Hello:

I'm new to numbers, but have got a lot of computing to do.

I have some fairly simple formulas (x-y for example) to do. The issue is, I have 300 rows that I need this mathematical operation done on.

Is there a way I can copy this formula into each different row so that the formula stays the same, yet the computaiton is unique to the individual row?

Thanks for helping with such a basic question.

Hi Jrp,

In this example, enter your formula in D2

User uploaded file

=B2−C2

Press enter.

Two methods:

Method 1:

Select D2 and Copy

Select all Body Cells in D and Paste

Method 2:

Select D2 and hover the cursor over the bottom cell border until you see a yellow dot (Fill Handle)

User uploaded file

Drag the Fill Handle down.

D is now filled with the formula which automatically changes with the Row
