Movies stop playing half way through

I have iTunes 12.1.1.4 on Windows 7 64bit system. I have all my purchases from iTunes Store on an external hard disk.

When I'm playing a movie from my Library, it stops abruptly. I have to hit play again and select Resume Playing in order to continue the movie. Does anyone know the solution to such a problem?
