MY iPad would not upgrade

Which model iPad?
Which version of iOS?
Please note that an iPad 1 can not be upgraded beyond 5.1.1, otherwise please provide details.

What happens when you try to update it ?
If it's the first gen iPad (i.e. it doesn't have cameras on it) then it only supports up to iOS 5.1.1, it can't be updated any higher
