Find my Iphone says locating

I just returned from Puerto Rico to the states and my phone will not load Find my iphone. I am also having trouble when I go into my messages. If I click on messages from one person (whom I traveled with to PR), when you click on details, nothing loads. The screen just freezes. When I go into messages from other people, the contact details show up with no problem. It's just the one contact. I've tried shutting down...airplane mode...wifi turned on and off.

Not sure if should back up to computer and restore from back up....or if it's worth a trip to the apple store???

Try resetting the device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Slide to Unlock screen redisplays see if the issue is resolved.

I tried that. I got back into that one contact and hit details, it flashes on for a second then crashes. I try going back in and hitting details again and it just freezes.

Try restoring from backup first. If that does not solve the problem, you could try restoring the phone as new then resynch/redownload your digital content. If those two options do not help, you could have a hardware problem and you would need to get it sorted out at an Apple Store.

Ended up doing an online chat with apple and what eventually worked was a reset of all settings.
