i am having trouble setting up my new iPad. How can I update to latest iOS before I set it up from my previous iPad with the latest iOS version.my new one is iOS 7.1.2 and my old one is 8.1.3 I was told to update my new one first but I haven't been able to get the configuration done so how can I update it.

Set up your ipad as a new iPad with no restore. Use Settings > General > Software Update to update it to iOS 8.1.3. Return the iPad to setup mode by using Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. Finally go through the setup and restore from the backup from your old iPad.
Plug it into your computer install itunes and click update iPad when it opens.
Trying to configure my new iPad from my husbands I cloud but I don't have the latest version so how can I get that before I set up my iPad.
