All of a sudden, for the past 2 days my MacBook Pro is dragging and my battery is draining really fast (2% every 10 minutes). Any suggestions?😟

I guess I kinda figured that, but I was wondering if there was a way to determine which application is the culprit(s) and how to fix the problem.

I have similar symptoms . MBP 2008
Battery drains fast and my fans constantly run . Everything running slow .
From my dock widget:
My fans are running at about 5900 RPM - usually it's about 2200
Batter cycles - 140 and Health is 82%

And what does Activity Monitor indicate may be causing high CPU usage?
Oh forgot to add that.
Activity Monitor shows that Safari and Safari Network (what's that?) both were taking up about 90% each .. strange.
But after doing the SMC reset just now (taking battery out and holding down power button for 5 seconds) only the
Safari Network is at the top now at about 98% and Safari is way down to 1-2%
Wish I knew what any of that meant or what to look for in the act monitor .
Fans seem to be back to normal.

Hello All,
My computer is still running slow and hot; fans high and batt draining fast.
I can't figure it out.
I do see something called : "ConnectService (All Users) in my login items in sys prefs.
Is that something I can delete safely ? Loggin in allows me to delete it.
When I attempt to delete, it says "it will affect all users of the computer" but doesn't say how or what it is?
