updating the new garageband costs more money

I have macbook pro OS X Yosemite and I have the old version of garageband.

Since I already have garageband, it doesn't seem fair that I have to pay an extra 4.99$ to get the new update (garageband 10.0.3).

Mac app store doesn't show any sign of an update to my garageband, only a new app to be installed.

Any ideas how I could update my garageband for free? Thanks
