Audio out via 30 pin on iPad 2

Does anyone know if the internal speaker will still work when you use a 30 pin cable and grab audio out off pins 3 &4? If so which cable works? Bought a 30pin to USB/audio out 3.5mm that kills the internal speaker. Using iPad 2. Thanks
