auto add to itunes, longest delay seen?

Haven seen a few posts talking about itunes not always finishing the add process for compatible media places in the auto add folder.

The latest post said their itunes setup eventually completed, just took a really long time. I'm in the same boat, added a couple thousand tracks and it processed about 95% and it's just sitting there. Figure it's thinking about something, but of course what itunes does or doesn't do often remains a mystery to us...

so I wanted to ask, for those who have had issues with itunes just sitting on media in the auto add folder, what have you noticed for timeframes for it to finish processing the media?
