Apple TV Gen 1 will not sync TV Shows with iTunes 12.1

I recently purchased season 2 of House of Cards via iTunes. My 1st generation Apple TV and my 12.1 Version of iTunes syncs my music, pictures, movies, but not the TV shows. The setting are set to "Sync All Unwatched Shows". I reset my Apple TV to "Factory Settings" and reconfiged everything. Everything syncs except the TV Shows. I only have 2 Apple TV errors for 1080 movies that will not play on my Apple TV. I have download many TV Shows in the past and have had no problems syncing. This occurred since I upgraded to iTunes V12.1. I was traveling for 2 months and playing the TV shows directly from my MacBook Pro via HDMI cable. I updated iTunes during my travel and just returned home. This is the first time I tried to sync with iTunes 12.1 and Apple TV.

If you have downloaded 1080p versions to itunes you cannot sync them as AppleTV 1 can only decode 720p at 24 fps efficiently.

You can alter your download setting in iTunes Preferences.

Thanks. That was the problem. Previously I obviously purchased them on Apple TV and they were downloaded in the 720p format and synced to iTunes. However I would have thought iTunes would have given me a sync error like it does for 1080p movies.
